President Khachaturyan and Iran-Armenia Friendship Group Delegation emphasize "Crossroads of Peace" project

YEREVAN, JANUARY 13, ARMENPRESS. President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan received the delegationof the Iran-Armenia Friendship Group of the Majlis, headed by Ara Shahverdyan.

According to the Presidential Office, welcoming the guests, the President stated: “I am glad to host you in Armenia. It is important to note that the past year was quite productive in terms of the development of relations between our two countries and the frequency of mutual visits. Armenia attaches great importance to the consistent strengthening of good-neighborly relations with Iran. Iran has been and remains a special partner for us.”

The Armenian President also highlighted the significance of cooperation through friendship groups and the regular meetings of legislative body representatives, noting the important role parliaments play in the development of bilateral relations.The head of the Iran-Armenia Friendship Group expressed gratitude for the warm reception, according to the source.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the further development of bilateral relations, with a special focus on deepening cooperation in the economic and political spheres. They emphasized the need to expand collaboration in the areas of communication routes and infrastructure. The interlocutors also addressed regional security matters, highlighting Armenia's Crossroads of Peace project as a key initiative for establishing sustainable peace and security in the South Caucasus.
