EU Special Representative presents details about Armenia and Azerbaijan visits

YEREVAN, JANUARY 13, ARMENPRESS. EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Magdalena Grono has summed up her January 7-11 first regional visit.
In a post on X, Grono said that during her meetings in Armenia and Azerbaijan she conveyed the EU’s continued strong commitment to this strategic region and partnerships with both countries.
“Crucial to advance towards lasting peace, ensure progress on outstanding issues and prepare populations for peaceful future. Essential to address and lower threat perceptions, including through public reconciliation efforts and positive rhetoric that commits to peace,” Magdalena Grono said.
The EU special envoy added that she stressed EU's readiness to step up support to normalization in all its aspects, including by supporting ongoing Armenia-Azerbaijan bilateral talks, focusing on concrete aspects of connectivity and humanitarian issues and promoting regional cooperation initiatives.
Grono said that during her meetings she discussed advancing the peace process, normalization efforts, regional cooperation, as well as the EU-Armenia and EU-Azerbaijan ties.
