Iranian security council secretary reiterates Tehran's opposition to any geopolitical changes in the region

YEREVAN, JANUARY 9, ARMENPRESS.  During a meeting with his Armenian counterpart Armen Grigoryan, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Akbar Ahmadian, reaffirmed Tehran's readiness to enhance political, security, and economic relations among regional countries, according to the Iranian news agency IRNA.

The two officials discussed regional issues and emphasized the importance of establishing peace and stability in the Caucasus. Ahmadian outlined Iran's regional policy, reiterating Tehran's principled opposition to any geopolitical changes in the region.

Both sides expressed mutual satisfaction with the progress in political, security, and economic relations between Iran and Armenia.

 According to IRNA, Grigoryan, in turn, underscored Armenia's interest in expanding its role in the North-South corridor and leveraging the strategic opportunities offered by Iran's Chabahar port.
