Poland to hold presidential election on May 18

YEREVAN, JANUARY 8, ARMENPRESS.  Poland will hold a presidential election on May 18, Szymon Holownia, the head of the country's Parliament, said on Wednesday,  according to Polish TV.

The incumbent, President Andrzej Duda, will leave office in August, ending his second five-year term. He cannot seek reelection.

If no candidate secures a majority in the first round, a second-round run-off vote between the two leading candidates will take place on June 1.
