YEREVAN, JANUARY 8, ARMENPRESS. The EU monitoring mission in Armenia continues to play an important role by preserving stability and contributing to the peace process, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has said.

Speaking at a press conference, Mirzoyan said that the mission, EUMA, is especially important in the conditions of the current rhetoric of Azerbaijan, when Armenia is being falsely accused of border shootings.

“We believe that as long as Armenia doesn’t have delimitated borders with Azerbaijan, and as long as there are false accusations [by Azerbaijan] on shootings by the Armed Forces of Armenia or breaching the peace, we will continue to have the need for the EU civilian mission. We consider their presence to be demanded,” Mirzoyan said.
