Sham criminal case against Ruben Vardanyan sent to Baku Military Court

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS. The sham criminal case against Ruben Vardanyan, the former State Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh, who is being illegaly detained in Azerbaijan, has been sent to the Baku Military Court, according to a joint statement by the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan and the State Security Service.

Vardanyan has been charged under several serious articles related to Azerbaijan's "national security" and faces life imprisonment.

His lawyer, Jared Genser, stated that the charges are entirely politically motivated and are aimed at taking revenge on the people of Nagorno-Karabakh and their leaders.
