Yerevan Municipality installs 151 detectors to monitor air quality

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 26, ARMENPRESS. Yerevan Municipality has installed 151 air quality detectors this year, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan announced at a year-end press conference.

Avinyan noted that in just about six months, the municipality implemented a Geographic Information System (GIS), an electronic map for monitoring various issues. 

"Recently, there has been much discussion about air quality. Through this GIS platform, Yerevan Municipality, while also presenting new requirements to developers, has installed 151 detectors across the city. The platform gives an opportunity to track the issues related to Yerevan's air quality," the mayor stated.

He added that this data provides a solid foundation for developing a comprehensive four-year program aimed at improving air quality in the city.
