YEREVAN, DECEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS. Indian chess prodigy Gukesh Dommaraju has etched his name in history as the youngest world chess champion, defeating China's Ding Liren in a dramatic final of the World Chess Championship held in Singapore.

At just 18 years old, Gukesh secured the title in a closely contested 14-game match, clinching victory with a 7.5-6.5 score. The decisive moment came in the final game, where Gukesh, playing black, capitalized on a critical blunder by Ding, who faltered under pressure despite a favorable position.
