YEREVAN, DECEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS. A Shirak Avia airplane en route from Yerevan to Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod has safely returned to Zvartnots airport after takeoff.
Media reports suggested that the plane circled in Armenian airspace for about two hours before eventually landing.
Asked to clarify, the Shirak Avia airline told Armenpress that the duration in the reports is exaggerated.
“The plane was circling in the sky in order to burn fuel for [safe] landing,” the airline said. The passengers will be offered another flight to their destination from Zvartnots.
The airline refused to disclose the cause of the return, noting that it contains “secret” information.
