President Khachaturyan, newly appointed Austrian Ambassador discuss expanding cooperation

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 11 , ARMENPRESS. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria to Armenia, Robert Gerschner (residing in Tbilisi), handed over the credentials to President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan.

According to the Presidential Office, the President congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished him success. "I am confident that your efforts will contribute to and elevate our cooperation to an even higher level. Armenia highly values and appreciates its cooperation with Austria. In recent times, this cooperation has become more intensive. I also want to express my gratitude to Austria and its authorities for the support they have provided to Armenia," the President said.

The newly appointed Ambassador expressed gratitude for the warm reception and kind words. "I am glad that we can record that the relations between our two countries have been friendly since the very beginning, in 1992, and, as you have noted, in recent years these relations have gained additional positive development," the Ambassador said.

The meeting highlighted the importance of close cooperation between the two countries, both bilaterally and within European Union formats. The significant role and value of the Austrian Development Agency's activities in Armenia were particularly emphasized.

According to the Presidential office, the meeting addressed opportunities for further expanding political, economic, educational, and cultural cooperation.
