YEREVAN, DECEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Weightlifting Federation President Hrachya Rostomyan has praised Alexandra Grigoryan for her performance at the World Weightlifting Championships in Bahrain.
The 19-year-old Armenian weightlifter won bronze in the 55kg women’s category with a total result of 205kg (117+120).
Grigoryan, the 2024 European championship gold winner, set a world record in the junior division with her results.
“This is the victory of the entire Armenian sports, because for many years we haven’t spared any effort in order to achieve serious success also in the women’s championships,” Rostomyan said in a post on social media.
“I’ve said this many times, and I reiterate that our victories are in unity. That’s the only way we can secure national victories. Our finest athletes are yet to perform in the championships and I am sure that we will win many more medals. We are strong when we are in solidarity,” he said.
