Armenian, Austrian FMs discuss development of bilateral ties, EU partnership

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 6, ARMENPRESS. On December 5, in Malta, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria Alexander Schallenberg. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council.
Continuing the active political dialogue, the FMs touched upon activities aimed at further developing bilateral relations between Armenia and Austria, as well as prospects for deepening the Armenia-EU partnership, the foreign ministry said in a readout.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the importance of continued support from EU member states on issues such as the dialogue on visa liberalization and democratic reforms, while also informing about discussions within Armenian society regarding further cooperation with the EU.
FM Ararat Mirzoyan and FM Alexander Schallenberg exchanged views on regional developments.
Minister Mirzoyan reaffirmed Armenia's position on the importance of signing the treaty on normalization of relations with Azerbaijan within the shortest timeframe.
