Armenia accredits permanent representative to the UNON and two UN agencies in Nairobi

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 4, ARMENPRESS. Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Sahak Sargsyan, handed over a letter from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia regarding the accreditation of Armenia's Permanent Representative to the UN Office at Nairobi (UNON) and two UN agencies located in Nairobi to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON), UN Under-Secretary-General Zainab Hawa Bangura.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, the UNON Director-General congratulated Ambassador Sargsyan and wished him success in his new mission. Ambassador Sargsyan reaffirmed Armenia's commitment to enhancing its involvement within the framework of UNON and the two UN agencies based in Nairobi: the Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) and the Environment Programme (UNEP).

The parties also exchanged views on current cooperation and its future prospects, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts to implement the "2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development."
