Pashinyan announces fulfillment of midterm strategic objective of his administration

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that his administration is the one that will be able to say it has guaranteed the existence of Armenia’s statehood for at least the next 100 years.

Speaking in parliament, Pashinyan reminded his speech two years ago, that if the government succeeds in maintaining the country’s statehood in the next few years it would mean that a real chance of maintaining it for the next hundred years has emerged.

“And two years later, I stand in parliament, as prime minister of the Republic of Armenia. And thus, I have to note that in mid-term our centuries-old and strategic objective is fulfilled,” Pashinyan said.

However, the PM said vigilance must be maintained at all times because new challenges have emerged, while most of the pre-existing challenges have become more manageable.

The PM again said that the nation-martyr and nation-army formulas must be overcome in order to manage the challenges, and the country must position itself as a state with the sole mission of ensuring security and welfare of its citizens on its territory.

“We must stand firmly on this concept, and step by step, carefully, realizing that we continue to walk on a minefield, be able to overcome this minefield and reach the destination, that will allow us to say that we have guaranteed the existence of our state for the next 100 years. I am convinced that we are the government, we are the parliament that will have the chance to say, we have guaranteed the existence of the Republic of Armenia for the next 100 years,” Pashinyan said.
