Former Portuguese PM Antonio Costa officially takes over as President of the European Council

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 30, ARMENPRESS. Outgoing European Council President and former Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel has officially handed over his powers to former Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa at the headquarters of the organization in Brussels, Tass reports.

Costa's term as president of the European Council will begin on December 1, 2024. On the same day, Ursula von der Leyen’s term as president of the European Commission will be extended.
