YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 29, ARMENPRESS. Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on November 28 participated in a roundtable discussion at the Foreign Ministry of Finland. The discussion was attended by foreign ministry officials of Finland, as well as representatives of the civil society and expert circles.
FM Mirzoyan presented the priorities of the Armenian foreign policy and its efforts aimed at strengthening the country’s independence, sovereignty and resilience, the foreign ministry said in a press release.
The minister touched upon the opportunities stemming from the development of new, ambitious partnerships and prospects of cooperation with international organizations. FM Mirzoyan underscored that despite the existing challenges the Armenian government continues to implement democratic reforms and active partnership with likeminded partners in this direction.
The participants of the meeting were especially interested in the dynamics of deepening the Armenia-EU partnership, the discussions around the development of a new agenda, as well as the sentiments within the society around the prospects.
Ideas were exchanged around regional issues.
FM Mirzoyan spoke about the existing security situation in South Caucasus, presented the latest developments in the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process, underscoring the clear political will expressed by Armenia regarding the signing of a peace treaty.
“Armenia is at a unique crossroads, and in order to maximally utilize its potential our government has proposed the Crossroads of Peace concept aimed at the effective unblocking of regional connections and ensuring sustainable economic development,” FM Mirzoyan said.
He then held a Q&A with the attendees.
