YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) continues to consider Armenia an ally, despite Yerevan’s non-participation in the organization’s events, CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov said at the summit in Astana.
"As we know, the Republic of Armenia has suspended its participation in the organization, and this reflects the current position of the political leadership of Armenia regarding the CSTO. However, I must emphasize that this is the decision of an independent and sovereign state, which cannot be influenced by any state or organization. We believe that Armenia was, is and remains our ally.
Nevertheless, we believe that Armenia will return to full participation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization in the foreseeable future,'' he added.
