YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 28, ARMENPRESS. The Cabinet confirmed on Thursday Artur Poghosyan as the new Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

Poghosyan told Cabinet ministers he will use his experience and potential to strengthen the rule of law and meet the public’s expectations in the justice sector.

PM Pashinyan said the government’s strategic objective is to establish a universal and broad sense of justice in the country.

Poghosyan served as Deputy Prosecutor-General before the appointment.

He is replacing Argishti Kyaramyan, who resigned along with several other high-ranking officials on November 18 after PM Pashinyan strongly criticized Armenia’s judicial and law-enforcement bodies for failing to end a perceived lack of justice in the country.
