YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan has tendered his resignation, his spokesperson Narek Sargsyan has confirmed.
“I confirm that the minister has tendered his resignation,” Sargsyan told Armenpress.
Ghazaryan’s resignation comes after the resignations of Supreme Judicial Council president Karen Andreasyan and Anti-Corruption Committee Chairman Sasun Khachatryan.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in a statement issued on Monday, said he asked the high-ranking officials to resign.
During last week’s Cabinet meeting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan strongly criticized Armenia’s judicial and law-enforcement bodies for failing to end a perceived lack of justice in the country.
