President of Uruguay, Armenian Ambassador discuss prospects for strengthening ties

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Ambassador to Uruguay Mariam Gevorgyan has presented her credentials to President Luis Lacalle Pou, the Armenian foreign ministry has said.

During a meeting after the ceremony, which was attended by Uruguay’s Minister of Foreign Relations Omar Paganini, President Luis Lacalle Pou congratulated the Armenian Ambassador and wished her success in the responsible mission.

During the conversation the parties touched upon the prospects for strengthening the Armenian-Uruguayan relations, emphasized the historically friendly nature of the ties and expressed satisfaction on the occasion of opening the Armenian embassy in Montevideo.

Ambassador Gevorgyan briefed the Uruguayan President about the regional security situation and Armenia’s efforts for achieving sustainable and lasting peace.
