Armenian foreign ministry, Sweden’s Folke Bernadotte Academy discuss prospects of enhancing cooperation

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 11, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Foreign Ministry Secretary General Davit Karapetyan has met with Folke Bernadotte Academy Director-General Per Olsson Fridh in Sweden.
The Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) is the Swedish government agency for peace, security and development.
Karapetyan reiterated the Armenian government’s commitment aimed at implementing democratic reforms, development of institutional capacity and increasing Armenia’s resilience, the foreign ministry said in a readout.
The Armenian foreign ministry official presented to Per Olsson Fridh the first Yerevan Dialogue international conference which took place in Armenia in September, emphasizing the importance of ensuring its continuity for raising and addressing international challenges.
Possible prospects of expanding cooperation with the Folke Bernadotte Academy were also discussed. In this context Karapetyan praised the academy’s role in conflict prevention, establishment of peace and capacity-building, stressing the importance of its involvement in the work of the EU monitoring mission in Armenia.
