Prosecutor General of Armenia meets President of Eurojust in The Hague

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 6, ARMENPRESS. The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, met with Ladislav Hamran, the President of the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust), in The Hague on November 6, as part of her working visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, Anna Vardapetyan expressed her gratitude to the President of Eurojust for the warm welcome and emphasized that their third meeting within a year reflects the growing cooperation between the two structures.

The Prosecutor General highlighted the cooperation agreement between Armenia and Eurojust, signed in Brussels on April 5, 2024. The agreement was ratified by the Armenian National Assembly on September 10, and on September 23, Armenia signed a working agreement with Eurojust.

The Agreement envisages the possibility of sending a Commonwealth Prosecutor to Eurojust. The presence of the Prosecutor's Office at Eurojust will facilitate operational communication with contact persons from EU member states and third countries, and enable more effective international legal cooperation in criminal proceedings initiated in Armenia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed ongoing efforts to implement the agreement and addressed other issues of mutual interest.

During her visit, the Prosecutor General also held meetings with the representatives of Italy and Greece at Eurojust.
