YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan has highlighted the need for intensifying the role of commercial attachés in EU member states to promote Armenian goods in European markets.
MP Arman Yeghoyan, the Chairman of the parliamentary committee on European integration, asked Hovhannisyan during 2025 state budget discussions whether he sees a need for Armenia to expand the activities of its commercial attachés in the EU member states. Yeghoyan pointed out Georgia’s example, which has attaches for each specific sectors.
Hovhannisyan said that the presence of the economic attaché in Brussels is of primary importance for Armenia within the framework of the policy of diversification. Armenia plans to expand the presence in other European countries, such as France, Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and elsewhere.
“It’s more of an issue of supplementing it. We have decisions on establishing the relevant positions. The issue pertains to supplementing them, which requires human resources, and we are working in that direction,” Hovhannisyan added.
