Armenian infrastructures minister lauds productive discussion with Turkish counterpart

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 4, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan has said that during his recent meeting with his Turkish counterpart Abdulkadir Uraloğlu during an international forum they discussed the opportunities of relaunching the Gyumri-Kars railway.

Sanosyan said they discussed the existing opportunities and infrastructures that are currently unused. They discussed the opportunities for the two countries and the region in case of utilizing these infrastructures.

The Armenian government’s Crossroads of Peace project was also discussed.

“We spoke about all the defunct infrastructures, including the Gyumri-Kars railway. We have preliminary understanding on how long the restoration work could last, and also how much financial resources it will require,” Sanosyan told reporters.

He said the discussion with his Turkish counterpart was productive.

The preliminary thoughts and calculations will be summed up and implemented if the general discussions advance, Sanosyan added.
