Healthcare insurance system important component in EU visa liberalization framework, says minister

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS. The introduction of the healthcare insurance system is an important component within the framework of the EU visa liberalization process for Armenian citizens, Healthcare Minister Anahit Avanesyan told reporters on Friday.

“The introduction of the healthcare insurance system and access to healthcare services is also an important component within the framework of the visa liberalization process with the European Union. And we will continue to work to ensure this access, so that the visa liberalization process proceeds successfully,” Avanesyan said.

The universal healthcare insurance system proposed by the Armenian government was supposed to be launched in 2024 but the process was delayed due to fiscal issues. 

Avanesyan earlier told lawmakers that the healthcare system will not be launched in 2025 too.
