Yervand Manaryan's statue unveiled in Yerevan

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 31, ARMENPRESS. The statue of People’s Artist of Armenia, actor, and director Yervand Manaryan was unveiled in front of the Hovhannes Tumanyan National Puppet Theater. The statue was erected to commemorate the actor’s 100th birth anniversary.

The event was attended by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, other officials, artists, and art lovers.

The idea of creating the "living" and forward-looking statue of Manaryan was developed by Ruben Babayan, inspired by a well-known episode from the movie "The Bride from the North," in which Yervand Manaryan rides a motorcycle. Next to him is Ruben Babayan, who worked with and became friends with Manaryan.

The bronze statue was created by Armenak Vardanyan, who worked on it for approximately eight months.

Yervand Manaryan’s son, composer Krist Manaryan, unveiled the statue.
