YEREVAN, OCTOBER 29, ARMENPRESS. The Central Bank of Armenia is discussing with government partners the possibility of lowering the inflation target from 4 percent to 3 percent, Central Bank President Martin Galstyan said at a press conference on October 29.

Galstyan noted that inflation impacts all interest rates in the country, and if a 3 percent inflation rate could be managed, it would enable the Central Bank to work toward reducing costs associated with high interest rates—one of its primary goals. He added that professional discussions are currently underway on this topic with government partners, particularly with representatives from the Ministry of Finance.
