YEREVAN, OCTOBER 28, ARMENPRESS. The high growth in Armenian exports is mainly associated with the gold re-exportation, but the re-exportation’s impacts are gradually decreasing, finance minister Vahe Hovhannisyan has said.
“2,1 time increase in exports of goods was recorded in January-September, but the exports of Armenian-made goods, excluding the gold exports, grew 1,4%. The high growth is conditioned mostly by the gold re-exports,” Hovhannisyan told Members of Parliament at a committee hearing on the 2025 budget draft.
Imports grew 56,5% in January-September, however, without the impact of re-exports the imports dropped 5,2%.
“The impacts of re-exports are gradually decreasing. In the end of last year, and in the first half of this year, we had a significant growth of gold re-exports. These trends are gradually decreasing. And we believe this will continue to decrease next year,” the minister said.
