YEREVAN, OCTOBER 25, ARMENPRESS. Armenia is currently discussing the possible participation in the COP29 climate change conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, deputy foreign minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan has said.
Hovhannisyan said the Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan has received an invitation to the event.
The Armenian government is now discussing the possible participation. “This issue is under discussion in several aspects, in terms of establishing peace, resolving humanitarian issues, as well as the agenda of the conference. As you know this is the most reputable international event concerning climate change. Taking into account these circumstances, soon we will make a decision on what level Armenia will be represented,” Hovhannisyan told Factor.am media outlet.
Asked whether Armenia will be represented by FM Mirzoyan, Hovhannisyan said he doesn’t rule out any option. He said everything will depend on the developments of the next weeks.
