Parliament OKs inception of Police Guard

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 24, ARMENPRESS. The legislative initiative on the creation of the Police Guard passed parliament on Thursday with 65 votes in favor and 28 against.

The bill was authored by the interior ministry.

The police guard will essentially replace the Police Troops, also known as the interior troops, and will come into effect by November 2025.

The police guard, among other functions, can be activated during martial law to carry out special tasks.
