Armenian, Iranian leaders prioritize development of bilateral relationship

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 24, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a meeting on Thursday in the Russian city of Kazan on the sidelines of the BRICS summit to discuss the development of bilateral relations.

PM Pashinyan was pleased to note the dynamic nature of the relationship with Iran and underscored that ever since Pezeshkian assumed the presidency the dynamics of the ties has been developing.

PM Pashinyan emphasized that the further development of the relationship with Iran is one of the priorities of the Armenian government, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a readout.

The Iranian President attached importance to the continuous development and expansion of partnership with Armenia, including in the economy and the culture sector. The President emphasized that Iran prioritizes the development of ties with its neighboring, friendly countries, including Armenia.

The bilateral agenda was discussed. In particular, the leaders discussed cooperation in the economy, energy and infrastructure sectors. They exchanged views on issues of regional and international significance. PM Pashinyan and President Pezeshkian attached importance to the implementation of consistent steps in the direction of ensuring peace and stability. The Armenian and Iranian leaders expressed certainty that the strong and deep bilateral relationship will contribute to the development of regional partnership.
