Baku court rejects complaint against arrest of Ruben Vardanyan

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 23, ARMENPRESS.  An Azeri court has rejected the appeal regarding the extension of the pre-trial detention period for the former Minister of State of Nagorno-Karabakh, Ruben Vardanyan, according to Azerbaijani media.

Vardanyan, who is illegally detained in Baku, had filed an appeal asking to cancel the arrest decision, but the court deemed the appeal groundless.

On October 18, an Azeri court extended Vardanyan's pre-trial detention period. He was detained by Azeri forces while attempting to cross into Armenia along with over 100,000 others during the 2023 ethnic cleansing campaign perpetrated by Azerbaijan.
