YEREVAN, OCTOBER 22, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Michael Carpenter, Special Assistant to the US President and Senior Director for Europe at the National Security Council and Louis Bono, the Senior Adviser for Caucasus Negotiations.
According to the Prime Minister's Office, Michael Carpenter delivered a letter from US President Joe Biden to Prime Minister Pashinyan. The interlocutors discussed issues related to the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty negotiations.
According to the source, Prime Minister Pashinyan reaffirmed Armenia's readiness to sign the peace treaty based on the articles already agreed upon and to continue further discussions. Pashinyan expressed his belief that signing the treaty would promote mutual trust and provide a positive impetus for discussions and the achievement of agreements on other issues.
The US official emphasized that the United States welcomes Armenia's determination and efforts to promote peace and stability. He also noted the importance of the border delimitation process and the signing of the Regulations, highlighting the readiness of the United States to continue supporting peace and stability in the region.
Ideas were exchanged regarding the possibilities of unblocking regional communication channels. The Special Assistant to the US President reaffirmed US support for Armenia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
During the meeting, the bilateral agenda of Armenia-US cooperation and other topics of mutual interest were also discussed.
