Armenian Foreign Minister, US official discuss regional stability and security

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 22, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan received a delegation on Tuesday led by Michael Carpenter, Special Assistant to the US President and Senior Director for Europe at the National Security Council.

According to the foreign ministry, the meeting addressed issues on the Armenia-US bilateral agenda, including current programs aimed at developing a strategic partnership, positive dynamics, and future prospects.

"Armenia is interested in continuing to develop relations with the US in areas of mutual interest, building them on common values, recorded achievements, and exploring additional opportunities for sectoral cooperation," FM Mirzoyan stated.

The parties exchanged ideas on matters related to regional stability and security. Mirzoyan emphasized the efforts made by the Republic of Armenia toward establishing peace in the South Caucasus and discussed the latest developments in regulating Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. He reiterated Armenia's interest in achieving stable peace in the region, noting that it has been clearly expressed in the desire to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan as soon as possible, as well as in the Republic of Armenia's vision aimed at ensuring economic development in the area.
