YEREVAN, OCTOBER 21, ARMENPRESS. Football Federation President Armen Melikbekyan faced mounting calls to resign on Monday as the First Armenian Front (FAF) football supporters’ association and all fan clubs announced new “drastic actions” to achieve his ousting.
“Now is the phase of drastic actions in the circles of football and the fans. Our problem is the failed federation, which has failed in all components,” FAF founder Sergey Janjoyan said.
FAF first called for Melikbekyan’s resignation after Armenia lost 0:2 to North Macedonia. Armenia manager Alexander Petrakov was fired shortly after the match.
Meanwhile, Melikbekyan said he won’t quit.
