Israeli army claims Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar 'highly likely' killed in Gaza

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 17, ARMENPRESS. Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar has been "highly likely" killed after Israeli forces engaged with and killed three militants during ground operations in Gaza on Thursday, the Israeli army said, according to Euronews.

It said the identities of the three had not been confirmed so far, but it was “checking the possibility” that one of them was Sinwar.

The Israeli army retrieved the bodies for a DNA test.

The units that engaged the three militants were not participating in an assassination operation and did not have knowledge of Sinwar's presence there.
