Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan receives Dutch Ambassador Marieke Harriet Monroy-Winter

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 15, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Minister of High-tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Armenia, Marieke Harriet Monroy-Winter.

According to the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia, Minister Hayrapetyan presented the legislative changes initiated by the Ministry of High-tech Industry, the programs, achievements in the technological sector, and the development of a new strategy. He emphasized high technologies as one of the most effective tools for advancing Armenia's economic development, given the sector's existing potential in the country.

The minister emphasized the mutually beneficial cooperation with the Netherlands, focusing on digital transformation policy, cybersecurity, and the potential for attracting large European technology companies to Armenia. He highlighted the Netherlands' rich experience and achievements, the already successful bilateral cooperation, and the support provided by the Netherlands in developing Armenia's technological sector.

In turn, the Ambassador outlined possible areas for collaboration, specifically addressing cybersecurity, approaches to cyber protection of critical infrastructure, risk reduction amid current technological advancements, digital transformation, and policies and mechanisms aimed at developing the startup ecosystem.

 An agreement was reached to intensify cooperation on these issues.
