Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan participated in the Berlin Climate and Security Conference

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 8, ARMENPRESS. On October 8, in Berlin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan participated in the round-table discussion entitled “Climate change impacts on crisis management and mediation” at the Berlin Climate and Security Conference, which was organised under the auspices of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.

According to to the foreign ministry, touching upon the normalisation process of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, the Deputy Foreign Minister reiterated Armenia’s readiness to finalise the Peace treaty with the already agreed-upon text in the shortest timeframe.

In this context, Vahan Kostanyan underscored Armenia's commitment to foster confidence-building measures between the two countries. Armenia’s decision to withdraw its bid to host COP29 is a vivid testimony of this commitment.

Underscoring the utmost priority of human rights, the Deputy Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of civil society's involvement in the climate and security dialogue.

In his remarks, the Deputy Minister touched upon the regional issues, emphasising the importance of a positive agenda in the context of developing bilateral relations with neighbouring countries.
