YEREVAN, OCTOBER 8, ARMENPRESS: The opening of the "Documenting the Century" exhibition by Armenpress was held at the Mariam and Yeranuhi Aslamazyan sisters' gallery in Gyumri.
Running until October 18, the exhibition provides an opportunity to reflect on Armenia’s most significant 20th-century events, from sports and cultural achievements to key political developments, visits by world-renowned figures, the restoration of historical and cultural monuments, scientific advancements, and more.
In her welcome speech, Nazaryan emphasized that Gyumri’s journey of rediscovering its former charm and rising from the rubble and ashes should inspire boundless creativity, continuous innovation, perseverance, and the pursuit of building a brighter future.
“The 'Documenting the Century' exhibition of archival photographs is a unique visual journey, offering us a chance to recreate in our minds all the significant events we have heard about, read about, felt deeply, prayed for, and lived through,” said Nazaryan.
She added that Armenpress, the state news agency, is 106 years old, and this year marks the 65th anniversary of the Armenpress photo service.
The exhibition will also be presented in other regions of the republic in the near future.
