Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan awards Golden Medal to opera legend Plácido Domingo

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 7, ARMENPRESS. Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan awarded the Yerevan Mayor's Golden Medal to world-renowned opera singer Plácido Domingo, Avinyan said on Facebook.

"Plácido Domingo, a legend of opera and one of the most recognized artists of our time, is currently in Yerevan. For his significant contribution to the development of world music, as well as the cultural life of the city of Yerevan, I have awarded the world-famous opera singer the Golden Medal of the Mayor of Yerevan," the post reads.

Plácido Domingo arrived in Armenia to perform at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall on October 8 as part of the 16th Yerevan International Music Festival. The concert will be held with the main support of the Yerevan Municipality.
