Unresolved issues concerning energy market slow down growth in EEU countries – PM Pashinyan

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 1, ARMENPRESS. The unresolved issues concerning the creation of a common market of energy resources within the EEU are significantly slowing down the pace of economic growth in member states, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the EEU Intergovernmental Council session in Yerevan.

“The fact that the issues of creating a single market of energy resources as part of the EEU are unresolved is significantly slowing down the paces of economic growth in our countries, which could’ve been higher,” he said.

Pashinyan said Armenia prioritizes the talks with non-EEU countries on signing free trade agreements that are aimed at mutually beneficial cooperation.

He said that the existing trade agreements with non-EEU states must be analyzed to reveal the flaws and find ways to improve them. “Regular monitoring and assessment of cooperation results will contribute to timely implementation of adjustments in strategy and agreements, thus ensure reliable and sustainable development of trade relations,” Pashinyan said.
