YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 30, ARMENPRESS Armenia and Iran seek to soon increase trade turnover to 1 billion dollars and then in the future reach $3 billion, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan has said.

The goal of increasing bilateral trade to $3 billion was outlined by the Armenian and Iranian leaders in 2023.

“This is certainly a very ambitious goal, but we strive for it, and to achieve this we must increase the types of goods and improve the logistics infrastructures,” Papoyan said at the EEU forum. In this context, Armenia prioritizes the creation of economic border zones to attract new investments.

“In terms of infrastructures from the perspective of deepening relations with Iran, the implementation of major infrastructure projects by the Armenian government will have an important role.”
