YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 30, ARMENPRESS. 85% of the third power transmission line between Armenia and Iran has been constructed, according to the Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Hakob Vardanyan.
The construction of the 400KW power transmission line is in the final phase, the official said at the EEU Forum panel discussion.
“There will be 280km line from Hrazdan to the Iranian border and a 400KW substation in Syunik Province. And there will be another line towards the Georgian border. After completing the entire project, there will be an opportunity to connect the four countries, Iran, Armenia, Georgia and Russia, but mostly Iran and Russia. And it will be the first time that two such major energy systems will have the opportunity to connect,” Vardanyan said.
The deputy minister said the third electricity transmission line between Armenia and Iran will be beneficial for the entire EEU area.
He said there will be new directions for exporting electricity.
