Armenian, Polish FMs discuss regional security and stability

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 25, ARMENPRESS. On September 24, in New York City, on the margins of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Radosław Sikorski, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland. 

FM Ararat Mirzoyan and FM Radosław Sikorski discussed issues of regional security and stability, including recent developments in and around the South Caucasus, the foreign ministry said in a readout.

Minister Mirzoyan presented Armenia’s vision on the continuity of the democratic path, economic development, and ensuring broader geographical interconnectedness. In this context the Foreign Minister of Armenia emphasized the political will of the Republic of Armenia to sign the peace treaty with Azerbaijan within the shortest period of time, as reflected in the latest proposal of the peace treaty.

Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the interest of Armenia in unblocking regional communications based on the well-known principles. 

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Poland also discussed issues on deepening the cooperation of Armenia with the EU and examined perspectives of future cooperation in line with the aspirations of Armenia’s citizens. 

During the meeting, Minister Mirzoyan expressed condolences to his Polish counterpart regarding the victims of the floods that happened recently in Poland.
