YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS. American actor and film director Michael Goorjian, of Armenian descent, is eager to shoot another film in Armenia and hopes this wish will come true in the coming year, Goorjian said in an interview with Armenpress while participating in the Global Pan-Armenian Summit.

Speaking about the Summit's role in strengthening Armenia-Diaspora relations and developing ties, Goorjian explained that, although this is his first time attending the event, he is impressed by the large number of participants.

“There's a lot of people here, which is pretty interesting, from all over. I think in terms of helping tie the Diaspora, anything like this, that brings people from the Diaspora to Armenia, it's just healthy and good to have people mix and communicate and speak in the same place. So, I'm enjoying myself,” said Michael Goorjian.

Referring to the possibility of shooting a new film in Armenia, Goorjian mentioned that such projects are planned for the near future.

“I very much want to make another film in Armenia. I want to support other filmmakers as well. For me, it's about finding the right story. I have a lot of different projects․ Hopefully, within this coming year, I'll have a production up and going, “ he concluded.

Michael Goorjian is the screenwriter of the 2022 film Amerikatsi, a co-production between Armenia and the United States. The producers are Arman Nshanian, Patrick Malkhassian, and Sol Tryon, with cinematography by Ghasem Ebrahimian and music composed by Andranik Berberian.
