YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the Secretary-General of the UN World Tourism Organization Zurab Pololikashvili.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Pashinyan emphasized the importance of consistent cooperation between the Armenian government and the World Tourism Organization, as well as the implementation of joint projects in the tourism sector.
Highlighting the sector's significance for the Armenian government, the Prime Minister also stressed the need to develop regional tourism packages.
Pololikashvili noted that Armenia has great potential for developing its tourism sector, emphasizing the significance of hosting the World Wine Tourism Festival in Armenia during these days. According to the Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organization, this event also contributes to the growth of tourism outside of Yerevan.
The interlocutors highlighted the work done on developing Armenia's tourism investment guide. The guide was created in collaboration with the Tourism Committee of the Armenian Ministry of Economy, the Investment Support Center, and the World Tourism Organization. The guide will be presented this evening.
