PM's spouse Anna Hakobyan holds meeting with President of the All-China Women's Federation

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 10, ARMENPRESS. During her visit to Qingdao, China, Armenian Prime Minister's wife Anna Hakobyan met with Shen Yiqin, a state councilor and President of the All-China Women's Federation. The meeting took place ahead of the "Shanghai Cooperation Organization" Women's Forum scheduled for September 11.

According to Anna Hakobyan’s office, the two parties highlighted the active development of Armenian-Chinese relations, as evidenced by various meetings and mutual visits, including those involving the heads of the countries. Ms. Shen Yiqin specifically mentioned Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's visit in 2019, during which his wife accompanied him. Shen noted that visit significantly advanced bilateral relations and expressed hope that the "Shanghai Cooperation Organization" would further enhance these relations.

In her speech, Ms. Anna Hakobyan emphasized the importance of the meeting and the "Shanghai Cooperation Organization" Women's Forum. 

She underscored that strengthening relations with China is a priority for the Armenian government. Hakobyan also added that the development of women's abilities is one of the priorities of the foundation she leads.

Ms. Hakobyan noted that she, personally, as well as the "My Step" Foundation she  founded and manages, is committed to supporting and empowering women. "Our efforts focus on education, boosting confidence, encouraging bolder participation, and integrating women into various sectors of the economy and public life. I understand that the All-China Women's Federation shares a similar mission of empowering women. I propose considering potential cooperation between the 'My Step' Foundation and the All-China Women's Federation, including the possibility of organizing reciprocal familiarization visits for women in both directions," Hakobyan said.

Ms. Anna Hakobyan noted that the "My Step" Foundation has many projects, within the framework of which she will have a meeting with representatives of the "Soong Ching Ling" Foundation in order to find new avenues for cooperation in China. Ms. Hakobyan has officially invited Shen Yiqin to Armenia.
