Deputy PM Mher Grigoryan announces official start of Armenia-EU visa liberalization negotiations

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS.  Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan has announced the official start of negotiations with the European Union regarding the process of liberalizing entry permits and visas.

Grigoryan made the announcement during a joint statement with the Vice President of the European Commission, Commissioner for the Promotion of the European Way of Life, Margaritis Schinas.

“Armenia attaches great importance to the commencement of the dialogue on the liberalization of entry permits and visas. We understand that achieving the final goal requires consistent and targeted efforts. We address this process as a strategic agenda in the areas of migration, movement of people, and border management,” Grigoryan emphasized.

He noted that the official announcement of this process marks the beginning of efforts to achieve the liberalization of entry permits and the visa regime by the EU.

“I would like to reiterate Armenia's commitment to advancing our cooperation with the European Commission by implementing the necessary reforms outlined in the bilateral agenda. This agenda is aimed at further developing and deepening Armenia-EU relations,” noted Grigoryan.
