Legendary Soviet atomic submarine designer Igor Spassky passes away

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. Academician Igor Spassky, who served for many years as the chief designer at the Rubin Central Marine Engineering Design Bureau (TsKB MT), has passed away at the age of 98, TASS reported, citing a source in the shipbuilding industry.

St. Petersburg Governor Aleksandr Beglov expressed his condolences over Spassky's passing, describing him as a "legendary designer" and a rare individual "whose knowledge and talent guided the development of an entire industry, determined its future, and ensured the safety of our nation."
