Georgia supports signing of Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 2, ARMENPRESS. On September 2, Speaker of Parliament of Armenia Alen Simonyan received the delegation led by the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament Nikoloz Samkharadze.

Samkharadze’s delegation has arrived in Yerevan to participate in the joint sitting of the Armenian Parliament’s Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament.

Noting the deepening development of the relations between Armenia and Georgia, the Speaker of Parliament made a proposal to develop new formats for the intensification of parliamentary contacts, the parliament’s press service said in a readout. The Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament thanked Alen Simonyan for his warm welcome and welcomed the initiative. Speaking about the regional developments, Nikoloz Samkharadze mentioned that Georgia supports the signing of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The parties also discussed various other issues regarding the Armenian-Georgian agenda and of regional interest.
